3. The Fifth Floor

Sundowner with tropical vibes!

The Fifth Floor is a well-established favorite when you’re looking for a rooftop bar in Innsbruck that’s stylish without feeling pretentious. Set right in the city center on the fifth floor of the design hotel The Penz, it’s easy to reach—whether you’re coming straight from sightseeing or easing into the evening.

They really know their drinks here. The selection of whiskey, gin, and rum is top quality, complemented by classic cocktails from around the world and modern in-house creations. Bar manager Greg and his team mix with precision and a great feel for balance, without unnecessary showmanship. That’s exactly why many consider The Fifth Floor one of the best cocktail addresses in the city.

The rooftop terrace truly shines in the evening. Palm trees, a pleasantly cool breeze, and west-facing views create a surprisingly tropical vibe—right in the middle of Tyrol. You sit outside, wind down the day, hear glasses clinking, and think to yourself: this works. A relaxed spot for both visitors and locals to enjoy Innsbruck from above.

4. Cloud One Bar (Motel One Rooftop)

The Cloud One Bar has become a firm favorite among the city’s rooftop bars. Located on the 13th floor of Motel One Innsbruck, it clearly plays its strongest card with the view: a direct look at the Nordkette mountain range and sweeping panoramic views over Innsbruck. You instantly know where you are — right in the heart of Tyrol.

Once you arrive at the top, your eyes are drawn outside first. The city below, the mountains above, and a drink in your hand in between. Especially in the evening, the atmosphere is pleasantly relaxed, both indoors and out on the terrace. A signature feature of the Cloud One Bar is its “mix-it-yourself” concept: if you feel like it, you can simply mix your own sundowner. No pressure, no rules — just try things out.

The interior ties everything together nicely as well. Alpine charm, fine wood carvings, and details inspired by traditional Tyrolean parlors meet modern furniture, young art, and clean design. The result feels cozy yet contemporary. A rooftop bar in Innsbruck that impresses with its central location, fantastic views, and laid-back atmosphere.

5. Cloud 9 Sonnenterrasse (nur Dez.-Apr.)

The Cloud 9 Igloo Bar is Innsbruck’s highest bar and party location during the winter months — built entirely from snow and ice. Situated at 1,905 meters above sea level next to the Seegrube mountain station, it’s the perfect spot for relaxed daytime chilling in the sun.

At the outdoor bar, you’ll find refreshing drinks, cool electronic beats, and free deck chairs complete with warm blankets. The view from up here is spectacular. On clear days, you can even see all the way to the Dolomites. The Cloud 9 Igloo Bar and its sun terrace are open daily from December to April, whatever the weather.

In summer, instead of the Cloud 9 Bar, you can unwind on the terrace of the Seegrube restaurant and enjoy Tyrolean cuisine along with refreshing drinks.
