The aDLERS Rooftop Bar is one of the best-known rooftop bars in Innsbruck. The main bar is located on the 12th floor of the aDLERS Hotel and offers panoramic views across the city and the surrounding mountains. From May to September, you can go one floor higher to the seasonal Havana Rooftop Bar on the 13th floor.

The drinks menu includes classic cocktails, signature drinks, spirits and wine. On Friday and Saturday evenings, the atmosphere becomes noticeably livelier, with a DJ playing from around 9 PM. If you prefer a quieter drink, I would come earlier in the evening.

The biggest reason to visit is still the view. Few bars in Innsbruck give you such a wide perspective over both the city and the Nordkette. Sunset is particularly good, but this is also when the best outdoor tables are most likely to be taken.

My take: If I had to recommend just one rooftop bar in Innsbruck to a first-time visitor, I would probably choose aDLERS. It combines a great location, good drinks and one of the best views in the city. The main downside is the price – you definitely pay a premium for the setting.

Innsbruck’s newest rooftop bar

loft9 is one of the newest additions to Innsbruck’s rooftop scene. Opened in 2026, the restaurant and bar is located on the ninth floor and combines a modern interior with panoramic views over Innsbruck and the surrounding Alps.

The view is clearly the biggest reason to come here. With around 600 square metres of terrace space spread across three rooftop terraces, loft9 feels noticeably more spacious than many other rooftop bars in Innsbruck. The modern design and relaxed loft-style atmosphere fit the location very well.

loft9 is more than just a place for drinks. There is a full restaurant, making it a good choice if you want to combine cocktails or wine with dinner. The drinks menu includes wine, Aperol, cocktails and non-alcoholic options.

The biggest downside for me is the price level. Drinks and food are clearly more expensive than at an ordinary bar in Innsbruck. I also find the atmosphere a little more polished and restaurant-like than at some of the city’s more casual rooftop spots.

The bar can get busy, particularly in the evening and on weekends. If you want a good table outside, I would reserve in advance.

My take: loft9 is one of the most interesting new rooftop bars in Innsbruck, mainly because of its huge terraces and impressive mountain views. It is particularly good if you want plenty of outdoor space or plan to combine drinks with dinner. If you are simply looking for a cheap, casual drink, there are better options.

Panoramic views in the middle of Innsbruck

Café 360° sits on the seventh floor of the RathausGalerien, directly in Innsbruck city centre. Despite the name, it is more than just a café: officially, it operates as a café, wine bar and lounge.

The drinks menu ranges from classic cocktails and Aperol to wines from Austria, Italy and France. If you want something a little different, there are also more creative options such as Lillet with lavender.

During the day, Café 360° is a good place to stop for coffee. In the evening, I think it becomes much more interesting. You can sit inside or outside, order a sundowner and watch the light change over the mountains. You also get a good view of aircraft approaching Innsbruck Airport.

The outdoor area is relatively simple compared with newer rooftop bars such as loft9, but that is also part of its appeal. You are right in the centre of Innsbruck without the atmosphere feeling overly formal.

My take: Café 360° is one of my favourite places for a sunset drink in Innsbruck. The location is hard to beat, and it feels a little more casual than aDLERS or loft9. I would choose it mainly for the view and atmosphere rather than for an elaborate cocktail experience.

Cocktails and sundowners above the city

The Fifth Floor is a well-established rooftop bar in Innsbruck and my preferred choice if the drinks matter just as much as the view. It is located on the fifth floor of The Penz Hotel, right in the city centre.

Cocktails are the main attraction here. The bar specialises in whiskey, gin and rum alongside classic cocktails, newer creations, champagne and wine. The Fifth Floor itself describes the concept as an American Bar, and cocktails are clearly more central to the experience here than at some of the other rooftops on this list.

The terrace is at its best in the evening. It faces west, so it works particularly well for a sundowner. Palm trees, comfortable seating and a cool breeze on warm summer evenings give the terrace a slightly unexpected holiday feel despite being right in central Innsbruck.

Compared with loft9 or aDLERS, you are not quite as high above the city. I don’t think that matters much here, though, because the focus is different. You come primarily for a good drink in a stylish rooftop setting.

My take: The Fifth Floor is my choice if cocktail quality is your priority. The mountain panorama is not quite as dramatic as at aDLERS or Cloud One, but the combination of good drinks, a west-facing terrace and a relaxed evening atmosphere makes up for it.

Front-row seats for the Nordkette

Cloud One Bar is located on the 13th floor of Motel One Innsbruck, directly next to the main train station. Its biggest strength is obvious as soon as you arrive: the view towards the Nordkette.

The bar has both an indoor area and an outdoor terrace. From up here, you get a wide panorama across Innsbruck and the mountains. One of its more unusual features is the “mix your own” concept, which lets you try mixing your own drink if you feel like doing something different.

I also like the interior. Traditional Tyrolean elements such as wood carvings are combined with designer furniture and contemporary art. It manages to reference the Alps without looking like a traditional mountain hut.

Another advantage is the location. If you are staying near Innsbruck Hauptbahnhof or have some time before a train, you can reach the bar in a few minutes without heading into the Old Town.

My take: Cloud One is one of the best rooftop bars in Innsbruck if your priority is a direct view of the Nordkette. The atmosphere is more laid-back than flashy, and I particularly like it for an uncomplicated drink with a mountain view.
